CERAMIC CARTRIDGE CROSS REFERENCE GUIDE

HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE:

We have based this cross reference upon the Electro Voice cartridge numbering system. All cartridge manufacturers and packagers offered cross over products but only Electro Voice and later EV Game offered a replacement for EVERY cartridge made. Also, we have found over many years of cross referencing that the EV guide is by far more accurate than any other ever published.  The guide pages offered here span four different references and many years of production so, there is some duplication. If you don't find your number on the first page you come to, keep looking.  There is a pictorial reference to match your cartridge by site and obtain the EV part number. The EV part number is the one you would use when you email sales@ewsaunders.com to inquire price and availability. We endeavor to keep most of the items you will see here in stock at all times.  Once you have the EV number, you may then research in the numeric listings to see who else packaged the cartridge and by what number. This is especially helpful if you have some cartridges lying around or if you see something on eBay or other site that you think will work but you are not sure.  If you have a cartridge make and model number and you want to see what will substitute for it, go straight to the numeric listings. We will demonstrate that method first.

Let's say you have a Philco record player and have only the part number 35-2827-1 as the identifier to replace a failed or missing cartridge. Simply click numeric listing at the bottom of this page to spawn an Adobe PDF file.  On pages with two or more numeric columns, the EV number is the first one (also noted at the column top of each page). Scroll to Philco and find your part number.

You find that your cartridge is an Electro Voice number 143. Now, let's say that you want to find out if someone else offered the same thing. Astatic for example. Simply scroll to the Astatic listing and follow down the EV part number column to "back cross" to an Astatic 70TS.

Using this free reference, you can quickly go from a hopeless search for an obsolete part to a shopping list of what to look for. And, again, most of the cartridges listed here are in stock at Edward Saunders, Inc. Simply email sales@ewsaunders.com to inquire.

The pictorial listing shows line drawings of all ceramic and crystal cartridges along with some application data. You can visually match an unknown cartridge and then get the EV number. Once you have that, you may use the numeric reference to determine other brands and numbers. Remember, you can zoom in on a PDF document to enlarge the image for a better look. There are some prices listed in the pictorials. Those were the prices back then when a loaf of bread was a dime - not today's prices. We do try to offer the best possible price and sales@ewsaunders.com will be happy to quote you. There is no quantity discount and, in fact, we prefer not to sell a large quantity to any one individual or company. Our problem is finding the quality inventory to keep in stock.
